The mighty Ivanhoe Vets win the 2022 season Grand Final against Burwood!

Ivanhoe Cricket Club Veterans Team

Veterans is designed to be a competitive game of cricket every second Sunday from 1pm – 5.30pm followed by a social BBQ after the game.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re an old hand coming back to cricket, a current player over the age of 40 or someone who’s always wanted to play but hasn’t had the opportunity – you’re welcome to come and be part of the side!

New players are always welcome so if you’re keen for a hit then we would love you to join the Ivanhoe CC Veterans. Non-cricketers are also welcome to become social members of the team/Ivanhoe Cricket Club and join the group for a convivial or two in the sunshine on a Sunday afternoon. The aim is to make the day enjoyable and we want to bring players, families and friends together for a good, competitive game before enjoying a beer/wine/soft drink afterwards.

About veterans cricket

Players wear whites and up to 12 players can play in each game (a maximum of 11 can bat and 11 can bowl, but it does not need to be the same 11 players).

Each side faces a maximum 35 overs with 8 bowlers required to bowl at least one over. Batsmen retire (out) at 40 and the maximum of number of overs that can be bowled by any one bowler is six. Six overs in row are bowled from one end before switching to the other end to save time/effort and speed up the game.
