Junior Cricket at Ivanhoe Saints CC
The Ivanhoe Saints Cricket Club junior program is designed to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that provides an environment for making friends, developing skills, and enjoying the great game of cricket. Ivanhoe Saints Cricket Club enters junior teams in the Eastern Cricket Association (ECA) and North Metro Cricket Association Cricket (NMCA) competitions.
Our players are asked to play in the spirit of the game. We expect our players to respect their team-mates, coaches, opponents, and umpires. Ivanhoe Saints provides all junior players with access to high quality coaching delivered by senior players. Our coaches provide an environment where each group has fun, develops teamwork, their cricket skills and leadership qualities.
The journey begins at the Woolworths Cricket Blast level, with girls and boys taught the fundamentals of the game within the Junior Blasters and Master Blasters programs developed by Cricket Australia. We have teams that range from U10 through to U18. We encourage any girl who wishes to play in a mixed-gender team to give it a go; girls can usually play in grades 1 or 2 years below their actual age if they want to, depending on the competition rules.

Ivanhoe Saints Cricket Club Juniors participate in three competitions throughout Melbourne with the Northern Metro Cricket Association (NMCA), Eastern Cricket Association (ECA) and Inner South East Cricket (ISEC).

Christian Steward
Junior Cricket Coordinator
Currently studying Accounting and Business at university, Christian is passionate about sport and aspires to a head of operations role in a sporting league. He previously completed a dual diploma of leadership and management and business with Essendon Football Club, gaining valuable experience across various departments. Christian is eager to contribute to the bright future of the Ivanhoe Saints Cricket Club and support our young talent. Christian is also assisting the Seniors as the First XI Team Manager.

JG Craig Shield
As a member of the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association (VSDCA), Ivanhoe Saints Cricket Club fields an U15 representative team in the JG Craig Shield. Ivanhoe Saints prides itself on offering a JGCraig Shield experience that is designed to develop their skills and provide a positive cricket carnival experience.

The Ivanhoe Saints actively promote young players to play senior cricket when they are ready. Our junior players are given opportunities to play in senior teams which are appropriate to their level of development.

Chaminda brings a wealth of experience in junior coaching and senior cricket with his passion for developing young talent in cricket. His focus is on creating opportunities for our junior players to compete at higher levels, ensuring that they have the pathways they need to grow and excel in the sport.
